Dear friends and colleagues,

I am glad to present you the newly emerged independent film festival Cinema Perpetuum mobile, that will take place in Minsk, Belarus on January 13-15, 2012.

“Cinema Perpetuum mobile” is an international cinema cooperation festival that gathers independent filmmakers and their groups to work under the theme of the perpetual motion.

The project is aimed at cinema cultural diversity and the promotion of independent auteur movies. Festival cooperation aims to cover all countries and continents from Scandinavia to the Cape of Good Hope and from Patagonia to the Aleutian Islands.

“Cinema Perpetuum mobile” is a non-commercial project, thus NO FEES for participation will be taken.

So far the festival has already gained support of the internationally recognized cinema personalities, such as Alexei Popogrebsky and Boris Khlebnikov who kindly offered to become the honoured members of the Jury.

The event is organized by the independent association "Kinaklub.org", a non-profit co-operative network for independent filmmakers and cinema lovers.

We encourage you to spread this information among those who may be concerned, be it the filmmaker, willing to take part or any kind of organization, interested in becoming the friend of the festival and Kinaklub.org. There are numerous ways for us to cooperate and promote independent filmmaking all over the world! Let's discuss it and act together!
We very much hope for your help as what we strive to do is completely unique for our region - we are going to be the FIRST independent film festival in Belarus. We are of course encountering lots of difficulties of various kinds organizing it here and the more helpful you may be just assisting us to attract more filmmakers to our event.

**********

The event itself is organized by the independent association "Kinaklub.org", a non-profit co-operative network and society for independent filmmakers and cinema lovers. Generally, we have a screening and a discussion once a week in our partnering gallery and one fillmaking seminar a week where we share our experience, organize shooting competitions, sometimes hold acting trainings or get deeper into the history and theory of the cinema. Kinaklub unites film lovers, amateur filmmakers as well as artistic and humanitarian students. Lately we started getting acquainted with audiovisual media, not only cinema and invited videoart performers and live audiovisual artists, including live scoring of the silent movies. Thus, we try to encourage and promote various creative activities connected with cinema.

We have already hosted our partnering film club from Germany and organized screenings and workshops for them.
We also try to involve small cities into our activities so this summer we started a nomadic project where young filmmakers travel round Belarus, show their films, hold discussions and inspire people not to be afraid to fulfill themselves through the means of cinema.

All activities done by Kinaklub.org are not funded in any way and are based on pure enthusiasm and love for cinema and do not bring any profit.

Lately Kinaklub.org received an invitation by Maciej Gil to join the International Association of Film Societies.

We are open for any forms of cooperation, and if you are interested, we can organize special screenings of your films during the festival or in any time suitable for you, as well as some mutual activity be it a filmmaking lab, workshop or fimmaking competition.
