FIKE 2009 - 8th Évora International Short Film Festival will start next week |  22 11

The activities for children will start next 23rd November and the International Competition on the 25th November. Opening with the Cannes Awarded film ARENA by Portuguese director João Salaviza, who will be present in the ceremony.

On the 26th a Master Class on "Telling Stories: The Creativity and Creative Processes" by the jazz musician, film producer and director Filipe Melo, who will lead us trough his own experiences as multi-faced artist and professional. In the same day we’ll have another peak on our programme, a Tribute to Ken Russell, the British director who made a real revolution on story telling. With a remarkable career, Ken Russell will take us in a journey on his memories and work.

Besides Ken Russell's Master Class November 27th will also be the date for the premiere of the exhibition "Alentejo Places on the Portuguese Literature" by some of the most well known Portuguese photojournalists and designers. "Alentejo Places on the Portuguese Literature" was the motto for their inspiration and is the name of the exhibition and catalogue.

On November 30th , we will celebrate Canada, with conferences and the premiere of the film Happy Man by Robert Ménard.

And of course, films, films and more films every day in different screenings, along with the gastronomy and the beauties of Évora. Do you need any other reasons to visit our next Festival?
